APRI PRESENTS: Kiler Davenport Live on Mixcloud - Interview with Doug Briney

Doug Briney Interview by Kiler Davenport on Mixcloud

Doug Briney embodies all things country: His personality is warm and inviting, some would say down-to-earth, recalling the disposition of many a Southern Gentleman from yesteryear. With a 2013 Independent Country Music Association Award, eight months on the Roots Music Report charts, international airplay and live performances at Rodeo Alaska, The Iditarod, The Grinder’s Switch Hour, Alaska State Fair, and Dan McGuiness’ on Music Row, among countless others, this God-fearing road warrior, with the warm baritone voice and love for all things southern, is ready to release his second album project, aptly titled Super Country Cowboy. On this album, Doug has created a tasteful blend of yesterday's traditional country roots and today's radio- friendly contemporary sounds, to invoke all the best that is American: Love of God, Family and the US of A. A recent move to Nashville, Tennessee has brought Doug to the epicenter of the country music  industry. Grateful for being able to live his dream of performing and recording music, he has gladly given back to his community in a big way. Surrounded by a history of veterans and military service in his family, (his son currently serves in the Air Force) Doug has begun working with Bright Star International, who will help facilitate Doug’s work with veterans’ charities. An ordained pastor, Doug also served at the Cowboy Church of Anchorage, Alaska, prior to his family’s relocation to Music City, USA. In fact, it’s his unwavering faith and love of country music that has led Doug on his journey. “I have come to know and love the Cowboy Lifestyle through country music…And, it is who I am now, who I have been, and who I will always be.”

APRI PRESENTS: Kiler Davenport Live on Mixcloud - Interview with Bradford Loomis and Beth Whitney

Interview with Bradford Loomis and Beth Whitney by Kiler Davenport on Mixcloud

When artists Beth Whitney and Bradford Loomis began writing together, they had no idea their casual co-writing experiment would blossom into the much anticipated album The Banner Days (releasing August 23rd on MTS Records). That first night, they wrote “My Beloved” in two hours. And after a few more writing sessions, it was clear to both, that these songs merited a bold decision. From the first time they played together, along with Beth’s husband/collaborator, Aaron Fishburn, the chemistry has been powerful. The combination of Beth’s delicate, pure, and melodious voice and Bradford’s soulful, growling tone makes for a beautifully heart wrenching harmonious blend. Their dramatic crescendos, minimalist intensity, through intricate harmonies have elicited comparisons to The Civil Wars, the Swell Season, and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’ Raising Sand. With equal parts sweetly anthemic, pop tinged folk, provided by Beth, and Bradford’s gritty, passionate Americana Roots sound, The Banner Days is an intrepid step for both artists.

APRI PRESENT: Author Skye Michaels

Skye Michaels biography:

I was born in New Jersey and grew up an only child on a small farm in the "Garden State". My father grew acres and acres of flowers for commercial florists and various produce such as tomatoes. My high school years were spent at Wayne Hills High School, where I was not one of the popular preppy kids, or one of the hoods - which kind of left me in limbo as I wasn't one of the brainiacs either. Weekends were spent going into "the City" and Greenwich Village with my friends and doing a lot of things I probably shouldn't have - don't tell my grandkids!

After attending Katharine Gibbs School in Montclair, New Jersey, I began a career as a legal secretary and then a paralegal. I moved to Florida and currently live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with my dog, Snickerdoodles. I was married for eight years but have been single for many years. My major addiction is jewelry, but any kind of shopping will do for a fix!

After my long-time job as a paralegal was ended by the economic downturn, I decided to turn lemons into lemonade and finally write the stories I'd had in my head for many years. I had always wanted to write romance novels, but my family and job kept me too busy.
My major interest aside from my family and friends is horses. I enjoy putting an animal character into my stories if possible. I am extremely "low tech" and probably should have been born in the 1800's as I enjoy driving a horse and buggy for fun. I also enjoy horseback riding, but the ground has gotten harder and further away over the years.

I have a small farm and vacation home in Ocala, Florida which is my favorite place in the world. There's nothing as wonderful as swinging in the hammock in the shade and listening to the music of the wind in the pines while cuddled under a quilt reading a good book. I set my first series, the Le Club Series, in Ocala's fabulous horse country. My second series, the Golden Dolphin Series, is a spinoff of that set aboard a luxury yacht that travels the world with occasional visits by some of the original characters.

Books have always been my escape into love and adventure, and through reading I have been able to be many people, do many things, and go to many wonderful places I wouldn't have otherwise been able to be, do or see.

Ashley Barron Interview by Kiler Davenport by Kiler Davenport on Mixcloud

With a love of all things country infused in her bones, Ashley Barron is giving country music a generous dose of her signature, adventurous spirit. A true American, Barron is the face of authentic country music. A patriotic, God-loving country girl, Barron isn’t afraid to let her true self shine. Whether she is shopping, camping, shooting, or hunting, Barron is all about spontaneity and finding adventure in life anyway she can. Describing herself as an old soul, Barron is fully attuned to her past and the way it has shaped her life today. A diverse mix of Native American, English, Irish, Norwegian, and German ancestry, Barron is strongly committed to her family. Barron is the youngest of four children, and she’s very grateful for the lessons she has learned from her older siblings. Her family is very close-knit, and no one ever misses the annual houseboat trip on the lake. With their mutual love of the mountains, water, sports, and all things outdoors, it’s no wonder the annual trip is a favorite among family members even after all these years. God’s latest blessing in Barron’s life is the release of her new single, “It Might Get Loud.” Already making waves on iTunes, listeners are loving her song, calling it “fun and catchy.” Barron blends all of her life experiences together into her music, bravely giving the world a glimpse into her soul – her down-to-earth, passionate, giving soul.

The Power of Cross Promotion by Marion Pound

Over the last couple of years we have worked day and night to build a presence on face book. It was very disappointing in the beginning having to find friends and build relationships. As directors, producers, writers, and talk show hosts we were here on face book for a very different reason than most. Our purpose was to build a massive audience, following and fan base for Alternative Public Radio International and to glean support for our missions - advocating for the mentally ill and making people more aware of the tremendous amount of abuse and neglect that is happening to this population. We have also been senior citizen advocates for over 25 years educating the masses on how to navigate this very complicated long term care system, where again abuse and neglect is rampant in the system.

Our objective here has never been about shallow, empty, non-conclusive, clueless social networking. We have always stood on a very strong, solid platform that requires 15 hours a day in the studio making solid connections with other advocates around the world who share our goals and objectives.

As of about a week ago we came up with a plan to start "Project Cross Promote". We know this is being done around the world and we know that some of these cross promotion projects are working very well. Cross promotion and multidimensional marketing is the wave of the future. But most people including authors, musicians, writers, poets and others have a very limited knowledge of how to make this work successfully. If done right cross promotion can build long lasting, powerful, profitable bridges among a very choice group of creative talent.

We have already started the cross promotion project and so far the results have been amazing. This project could be considered street teams on crack. The program is simple. It doesn't cost any money. Measurable results can be realized over night. This is truly an amazingly simple program. It does take time and energy to find folks that you want to cross promote with and then go and promote their pages by inviting ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS to the other members in the group's pages, projects, special events, etc.

We are very surprised to find that only very few people are utilizing this explosive idea. In order to be successful, happy and profitable. You must learn to make social media work for you and overcome the enormous obstacles that one faces when attempting to build a brand.

We are going to be setting up a series of talk shows, video blogs and training seminars to teach those in the creative arts and others how to increase their fan base, customer base, followers and others over night. If you would like to work with us on this program please contact us and let us know. We have the advantage of putting all those who participate on our 27 platforms as well as bring them on air to talk about their project or creative work around the world. You will benefit because we spend 15 hours a day 7 days a week doing this. You maybe thinking why would anyone want to reach out and help total strangers promote their projects and other creative works for free. The answer is short and simple. It helps to build a true and lasting relationship that is beneficial to all who participate. It is a win, win situation. We invite 5,000 people to your page, repost all of your special events and projects on our platforms, share your links on our chat room during our live broadcast, and mention as many of your projects as we can during the week on air.

Email us @ aprifriends2014@gmail.com or send us a private message or leave a comment under this post and let us know if you want to start cross promoting. Many people have asked us will this turn into another group. My answer to that is why not. DO NOT CONTACT US UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO PUT IN THE TIME, EFFORT, PASSION, FOCUS AND DETERMINATION TO WORK WITH A TOP GUN GROUP WHO BELIEVES IN TRUE DIGITAL COMMUNITY AND UNDERSTANDS THE DEPTH AND POWER OF THIS PROJECT.
